Tomian Pasta

Tomian Pasta

A tomato and onion pasta recipe, perfect for lunch or a light dinner! :) I just chucked this together from the fridge and pantry so it's a really cheap one for those days before pay day.

Ingredients:

1 tomato
1 onion (or half)
1/2 cup pasta
1/2 teaspoon of butter

Equipment:

Sauce Pan
Fry Pan
Potato Masher
Knife

Info:

Serves 1.

Allergens: Wheat

Recipe:

1. Boil 3 cups of water in saucepan.
2. Put pasta in saucepan with water.
3. Cut onion (any way, I did cubes) and fry in butter in frypan on medium heat.
4. Cut tomato in half and cube one half.
5. Smoosh other half with potato masher.
6. Add cubed tomato, and the liquid from smooshed tomato into the fry pan.
7. When pasta is soft add to fry pan and serve.

Comments:

This is a really easy meal, not many complicated flavours or sauces but with a little salt and pepper it's certainly worth the $2 the ingredients cost.

Variations:

You can use anything you like to fry the onion - if you don't mind raw onion you can avoid the calories from frying it all together!

I added tuna afterwards to add a little meat but this is optional and any meat could be used really.

Storage Instructions:

Haven't done so yet but it heats up well in the microwave the next day and I've heard that it can last up to a week refrigerated.
